Editorial standards
Cleaning contractors live with awards, inspectors and clients who read the specification more carefully than the invoice. The journalism should be at least as careful.
Accuracy
We use Australian sources for Australian rules: Fair Work, Safe Work Australia, state WHS regulators, state workers compensation schemes, and the tendering body that issued the document. When a practice differs by state, we say so. We do not flatten the country into a single American “OSHA” story.
Sources and experience
Pieces that describe a method should be grounded in work a competent contractor could recognise. We prefer named practitioners. Where a source needs anonymity because of a live tender or an industrial dispute, we say why the name is withheld.
Opinion and advice
Explainers are not legal advice, and a pricing walk-through is not a quote. Where we argue for a position — for example, walking away from a night-fill supermarket job — it is labelled as analysis. Readers should still check the current award, the SDS and their own contract.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected on the page and noted with a date. Send evidence through the contact desk. We do not silently overwrite a claim that has already circulated.
Conflicts and commercial links
Authors declare relevant commercial interests. Paid, traded or guest-post links use rel="sponsored". Product mentions are not inventory. See write for us for the contributor rules.
